My name is Winnifred or Winnie, and I am an artist, writer, and author with a lifelong love for literature and art. Currently residing in South Carolina, I graduated from the College of Charleston with a B.A. in Studio Arts. I get toconstantly channel my big ideas and visions into reality through my creative work. I am deeply proud of my Cameroonian heritage, which inspires my strong belief in the power of nature and good spirits. In everything I do, I love to spread positivity and joy to those around me, always choosing to look at the world through a glittery pink lens.
To put it short, I create! As a multi-disciplinary Cameroonian-American author, artist, blogger, and entrepreneur, I write and publish fantasy and young adult books under my full name, Winnifred Tataw. I am best known for creating the epic and urban fantasy series The Gods' Scion, which includes titles like Child of Tempus and Legacy of Lies. Transitioning my creative passions into business ventures, I manage Win's Books Publishing, an independent press I expanded in 2024 to support outside underrepresented and diverse storytellers. Additionally, I operate Win's Artistry, a digital studio and shop where I share and sell my textured, fluid paintings and illustrations that touch upon vibrant fantasy elements and nature.
Welcome to my collection of painting and drawing artwork! Win's Artistry LLC is my independent art business and digital studio, which I founded as a sister brand to my publishing house. Operating as a platform where I create and sell my original artwork, drawings, and art prints, the business also hosts my art-focused blogs and community events. My distinct aesthetic centers on vibrant, bold color choices and heavy paint textures, which I use to capture fluid fantasy images, surrealism, and whimsical, authentic representations of nature and femininity.
I write and publish young adult and fantasy novels, including The Gods' Scion, a fantasy world set in modern times dealing with modern-day problems. The series focuses on the life journey of Prince Rodrick Purcill and how he deals with the consequences of the horrors of the world he was born into. Through this series, I enjoy showing how different characters and points of view deal with the same problems presented within the story. Beyond the fiction, Win's Books LLC operates as a connective hub for writers and readers where I offer both free and paid promotion services to fellow authors.
Win's Books Publishing is my Black woman-owned independent and hybrid publishing house. I originally started the company as a single-author imprint for my own fantasy novels before expanding it in 2024 to accept outside authors with a strong mission to elevate underrepresented, diverse, and independent voices. We operate primarily under a traditional model covering all production costs for 95% of our titles, while also offering a hybrid model specifically for specialty books like planners and journals. Today, the press publishes a wide array of genres. Including fantasy, romance, thrillers, memoirs, and poetry; featuring my own works alongside incredible authors such as RA Barber, Tia Lashay, and Shasta Kayde.
